Meet Obisesan Shekinah #DoubleRansom

Who are you?

My name is Obisesan Shekinah, I am 13 years old. The second Child of Mr. and Mrs. Yemi Obisesan. I am light in complexion. I am from Oyo state, Ibadan. Nigeria.  I had my primary school education in Ibadan. I am currently in SS1 Science at St. Catherine’s College. Aleshinloye. G.R.A. Ibadan.

Acting Career

I started acting as a child in church (Stone Church, Mokola. Ibadan). I used to take the role of a child or a mother. I knew my director (Oladipo Ofresh) since I was 5 years old, though I prefer to call  him Uncle Fresh. I featured in his first movie called “BRIDGED” as Jemimah when I was in J.S.S 2.

My role models are My Parents, Funke Akindele, Eddie Murphy and my senior pastor (Arch. Alex Adegboye) who is an Architect

Double Ransom – The Movie

Double Ransom (2017) is the latest movie I featured in which also featured Jide Kosoko, Adeniyi Johnson, Gloria Tosin Sido, Elvis Poko etc. My role in the movie is Fope. Fope took after her father who is a detective but she would rather do it her own way which may not be the right way to do it. The movie is interesting, intriguing and a must watch for everyone. Double Ransom is now in Cinema.

As a Student – How do you combine work and studies?

When I first started acting, it was during the holidays. It hasn’t affected my studies in any way. So far, I have not allowed movie making to be a distraction to my studies. Also, my parents have been very supportive. I love you mum and dad, you are the best. I will also like to extend my profound gratitude to my siblings (Shalom, Elim and Ephraim) for being supportive to me. God bless you all

St. Catherine’s College – Her role on your acting career?

I am a member of the school’s DRAMA CLUB. I have been privileged to rehearse with other students and have written scripts for the club. Mr. Victor Ijejeme who is the leader of the drama club has been wonderful.

He has exposed us to different way of acting and script writing. He is one of its kind. I also want to appreciate Mr. Seyi Aniyeloye who is also a leader in the drama club and my ICT teacher. I appreciate all the staff and management of St. Catherine College for this great opportunity given to me to develop myself.

As a Science Student

I want to be an Architect. I have passion for drawing. My intention is to first graduate as an Architect and then develop my acting career. I believe I can excel in both areas.

In conclusion, I thank the Almighty God for his love, sustenance, guidance, provision and protection towards me. I love you all.
