AFRICA CODE WEEK 2016
The programme was anchored by Mr Temidayo. It took place in Saint Catherine’s College hall on 18th of October 2016. The programme started with the recitation of the National Anthem and National Pledge by Miss Jesupologo Longe.
Africa code week is aimed at increasing the awareness of programming. Program is like a structure, Computers are everywhere while program allows us to use it more. You don’t need to be a genius before you can code. Coding and Programming is everything.
Steve Jobs posits: ‘I think everyone should learn how to program a computer because it teaches how to think’.
Be hungry to code.
Be motivated.
Have a vision board and be positive.
Steve Jobs was motivated and hungry for coding. Think, feel and say what you want to become. Share your ideas with those who believe you. Study your role model. Do you choose to be an end user or a producer?
Research shows that student who participate in scratch programming are more brilliant..
‘Coding is a new language, Every child deserves to be fluent’.
Moreover, computer only understand machine language which is 0 and 1.
On a final note, ‘be hungry and motivated to learn’.
It was a good experience because i learnt something on the pep talk like we shouldn’t be ignorant about coding

The AFRICAN CODE WEEK was a very inspiring week for me.I learnt a lot of things and i also taught my friends a lot of things.i want to say a very big THANK YOU to my school for making me a part of this wonderful program and i hope to be part of this program next year.A word of advice to youths out there “always try hard to make the best out of life, and try hard to strive. Because there is always a masquerade in every beautiful fairy tale.
