Happy New Year

Season’s greetings to our beloved parents, we thank God for the successful completion of the first term of the 2018/2019 academic session.

The school resumed on the 17th of September, 2018 with an orientation programmme for both new and returning students. This was not without the ever ready, dedicated and seasoned teachers of St. Catherine’s College, who were prepared to inculcate and instill norms, values and excellence in the students. Activities in the school opened with an orientation programme, graced by the Director, Hon. (Dr) B.A. Taiwo, who spoke to the students from his wealth of experience. Thereafter, the Principal and school administrator gave her welcome address. She enjoined the students to set their priority right and to imbibe the reading culture.

BRIEF ANALYSIS OF WORK DONE SO FAR

A-Levels: With joy and so much sense of accomplishment in our heart, we announce to you that the A level school has been granted full accreditation after an intense Inspection by the British Council members. Classes are on going and admission is open to all for (Cambridge IGSE).  Interested candidates should visit the school’s A-Level website www.stcatherineschools.com.ng for more information.

The first week was used for revision of previous academic work and corrections of past examinations. Students were tested on the revision exercise, after which report card and the school administrator’s welcome address were sent to the parents

Competition: The school participated in the following competition for this term.

1.    DERIL ACADEMY LITERATURE CONTEST

2.    CHESS COMPETITION

3.    National Museum Christmas Carol Completion

Our students won medals and prizes for the school

JSS3 and SS3 students: Our target for the SS3 and JSS3 students is to complete their syllabi at the end of the term. In order to boost the performance in the external examination, we have started the following programme for the students

  • Saturday lessons : 10:00am to 2:00pm   
  • Early morning Mathematics: 7:00am to 7:40am daily for SS3 students
  • Regular monthly assessment test
  • Monthly prayer session.
  • Monthly C.B.T. for SS3 students
  • Afternoon Maths 3:00 – 4:00 pm

Parents are to ensure that their wards attend all these programmes. It is important for parents to note that all fees for JSS3 & SS3 students should be paid latest by 2weeks after resumption.

JAMB lesson: The school has started JAMB lesson for all our SS3 students.  Interested candidates are to pay a fee of fifteen thousand naira to the bank. All students are expected to pay latest by the end of December. Defaulters would not be allowed in the class after the stipulated period.

CHRISTMAS CAROL:- The carol took place on Thursday, 13th December, 2018 by 3:00p.m.


The programme was very interesting as lots of activities such as song rendition, Opera, singing of hymns, presentation by Primary school choir and lots more took place.

Holiday: The school will be vacating on Friday, 14th December, 2018. We wish all our parents Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year in advance.

NON-ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES     –   25TH MAR – 4TH APRIL, 2019

CLOSING DATE               –               5TH APRIL, 2019.
