DEBATE: JUVENILE DELINQUENCY – WHO TO BLAME?
Juvenile Delinquency also known as “juvenile offending“, is the participation in illegal behavior by miners (Teens)
Who is to blame – Home or School?
The debate was a fierce competition between yellow house and red house. Yellow house whose representatives are Ameh Sylvia (Chief speaker) and Olatunji Olatomiwa while Red House is represented by Umaru Vanessa (Chief speaker) and Fasasi Ayomide did not dissapoint her audience
Some of the highlights are:
- Moral problems: Morality is the most important concern among teens today. Some Children lack moral training at home. So they come to school and exhibit their immorality.

Some even go as far as asking for money from their students to help them get answers of exam questions
- No Proper monitoring of students in school: due to large population of school, the little numbers of teachers can not properly monitor the children
- Peer Pressure: Many young ones also give in to peer pressure by trying to adjust to the influence of thier friends. This has huge effect on the behaviours of juveniles
The debate ended on a high note. Yellow house bagged a total of 73% while Red house bagged a total of 83%. Red house was declared the winner.
