What a LOVE Story – Happy Valentine’s day
Valentine’s day is a day of showing and sharing LOVE among one another. It involves gifting, which put smiles on the faces of people.
In St. Catherine’s College, we see Valentine’s day as a very special day which we get to demonstrate LOVE as a school. Every valentine’s day, we usually embark on a project which involves humanitarian service.
On this special day, we reach out to the less privileged, orphans, special people and the motherless babies. We first visited the IBADAN HOME FOR THE MOTHERLESS. We saw children of different ages with various challenges. We were moved by the sight of the babies, some of us were moved with tears.
We played with the children and some of the babies danced while we sang songs to them. They were extremely happy at our visitation and they repeatedly thanked us for our kind gesture and our heart felt contributions.
We also visited OLUYOLE CHESHIRE HOME. They have three categories of people (Educated, Trained and the Mentally retarded). They have a school system where the special students and other students gets to interact and integrate. We are happy to see and speak with them. We were received warmly by the students and teachers and we were being hailed by the students as we left.
As you celebrate this Valentine’s day, may your hearts be filled with love that overflows and may you have enough to share with someone in order to put smile on people faces.
Our special thanks goes to all our esteem parents for supporting the occassion
